Last Night

If you missed seeing the Danelectros at the Kelly Square Yacht Club last night, then read on and find out what you missed.

Muddy Ann didn't miss a beat (seen here at the left edge of the picture, dancing up a storm), and neither did Chuck when he noticed that the cover charge wasn't being collected by anyone. With a room full of party animals and no hats, it took Chuck a little while to find a hat to pass around. The official Kelly Square Yacht Club's Captain's Hat was eventually extracted from the Smithsonian Glass Case in the foyer, and Chuck made sure that everyone helped to fill it up.

The Danelectros were cooking so hot last night that even after the hat had been filled, it just sat there on the corner table near the stage until after the show. I had to get a skyhook and pull MacDuff down to Earth so I could get his attention and point to the hat.

And MacDuff was definitely "cookin' with gas" last night!

Wild Man MacDuff doesn't need rehearsed choreography, written musical notation, or a degree from Berkeley to fill a room with the kind of energy that last night's performance blew everyone away with. I spent most of the night poised with my camcorder, capturing as much of this as possible. But no camcorder can ever do justice to the experience everyone had who was there.
