Setting Up

This morning around 7:30, I snapped this shot of some guys in a WPD pickup loaded with sawhorses, and a camo pickup behind it, getting ready to start shutting down some of the inbound lanes on Major Taylor Boulevard. ...Yes, I know, I referred to it as "Worcester Center Boulevard" yesterday, and mused about whether they had re-named it yet.

Now I know.

[You'd think that cab drivers would be all up to date with street names, and be like walking atlases of maps for the area. Don't believe it. We still call the DCU center the "Centrum". We still call St. Vincent's the "Med Center." And if I told the dispatcher that I was down on route 9 by "the Bonfire," he or she would know that I meant outbound route 9 by the Westboro line where the Bonfire resaturant used to be, but hasn't been for a couple of decades.]

By this afternoon, the classic cars, hot rods, and pretty women will be converging on the Crown Plaza Hotel in Lincoln Square, and Green Hill Park. I'm sure they'll be checking out the Main Street end of the tunnel with various amounts of rubber as early as... well... last night (according to this morning's T&G article).
