Imagine There's No Lennon

Today is John Lennon's birthday. He would have been 67 years old.

I recently read an article from a few years ago, concerning some research that established a link between creative genius and mental illness. It's an interesting article, and it made me think about how much saner I can make people think I am if I just keep my mouth shut.

John Lennon didn't seem to be interested in keeping his mouth shut, though. He saw what he saw, and he talked about it, wrote songs about it, and hollered from the rooftops about it.

I'm no genius, but the things John Lennon had to say always struck a chord for me. His works apparently struck a chord for millions of others, as well. He wasn't just another pop star riding on a wave of media hype, though. He spent as much time trying to kill off the hyped myths about him (and everything else) as he did creating content for it.

This clip was something he made to explain just what the heck was going on back then...
