Parking Garage update

The Union Station Parking Garage is beginning to look interesting, now.

From this angle, it reminds me of something, but I just can't put my finger on it...

This morning was a picture taking expedition, mixed in with running a couple of errands.

My first stop was here behind Union Station, and I took a lot of pictures from different angles.

It's so much easier to get decent pix on the weekends, especially when the weather is so nice.

I used Kathy's digital Kodak Easy Share C330 camera for all of today's pictures. She's had this camera for quite a while, and she uses it all the time. For an inexpensive camera, I'm surprised at all the features it has. Of course, I didn't bother reading the manual.

This shot is from the loading platform at Union Station.

I probably could've spent more time learning the advanced features of the camera before I ran out the door this morning with only the knowlege of how to turn it on to "auto" and snap the pictures. But they came out better than cellphone pix, scrote-cam frame grabs, or DVcam frame grabs, so it was worth it.

Until I started this blog, I might have taken two or three dozen still pictures in my entire life. I did go crazy with video for quite a while, but it was more attuned to playing around with the meanings of the imagery than just the imagery itself.

Of course, I had to test the camera out for multi-shot pans.

I never have time for this kind of picture-taking when I'm driving the cab. It's mostly drive-by shooting, and occasionally I'll step outside the cab to get a better shot of something. But it's always very rushed, very spur of the moment, and I do miss a lot of great stuff that I could've used.

The way this blog is shaping up, workday posts and weekend posts are probably going to look progressively different as I acclimate myself more and more into this strange, content-starved universe that we call (for want of a better phrase) Worcester's online community.

Now I remember what that first picture reminds me of... a Lego building blocks creation.
