Rushton Spotting - 2

It's been a couple of months since I spotted Rick Rushton campaigning out on the street. Today was an unusual spot, though, because there was no way I could've missed him... he hailed my cab.

It took me a minute to realize that it was him, but once I recognized him I said, "Hey! Aren't you Rick Rushton?" Then I spent the whole trip drilling down into the meat of the issues, screaming and pissing and moaning about everything I could think of that drives me crazy, day in and day out, and grilling him about what he's gonna do about this and what he's going to do about that...

Well...

Not really.

I did ask him if I could take a picture of him standing next to my cab, though, and he was very nice about it.

I'm looking forward to next monday, October 22nd, because Brendan Melican has organized a Worcester Mayoral Debate over at the Dive Bar on Green Street for 7:30 p.m. When I asked Rick about it, he said he plans to be there.

I have enjoyed taking my campaign to the cabs of Worcester. I pledged to run a grass roots campaign little did I know it would include Jeff's cab. Worcester is a great town because it is filled with interesting cats like Jeff. I had seen Jeff taking pictures from his cab near the underpass at the beginning of Green Street. I had decided a couple months of ago I wanted to take a ride with Jeff and answer any question he had about me or my ideas. Figured it was a way to take the collared shirt out of the debate. We had a good chat as he took me mostly around Grafton Hill. As we drove around I told him about some of the people I met as I knocked doors on Grafton Hill, and I answered some questions. Mostly, however, we just talked about life in Worcester.
