I read this review of Wild Willy's a couple days ago, and told Kathy about it. We rushed right over the first chance we got to find out if it was any good. There's a system to this franchise. When you walk in, there's a somewhat unobtrusive cash register over to the left at the end of a counter with a half a dozen stools. It's not obvious at first, but you order and pay before you sit down anywhere. Of course, that's a description I give to anyone who happens to walk in there when it isn't busy. When we went, there was a line waiting to order, so it was a no-brainer.
We each ordered a burger, and we shared an order each of large fries and large onion rings, along with a bottled sprite for me and frappe for Kathy. That added up to twenty four bucks. They gave us a flash card to set into the condiment stand at whatever table we chose to sit at, so the server would be able to easily figure out where our order would be going. We chose a booth in the huge dining room that provided a panaramic view of Greendale and Indian Hill.
It didn't take very long to be served. Although I had planned to take a picture of the food before we started eating, when we saw it we both just dove in and found ourselves immersed in burger heaven!
It wasn't until we had woofed down most of the meal that it occured to me that I hadn't taken a picture...
Kathy had finished her burger and I was only a couple of bites behind her when I took this shot. Those french fries were absolutely perfect, and the onion rings were to die for.But it's the burgers...
These burgers are a ten.
I know that there are a couple other places in town that can hit this mark, but a burger that's a perfect ten AND those perfect fries AND the onion rings that are to die for...
It doesn't get any better than this!
Wild Willy's is located at 317 West Boylston Street, where Eddy's Pub used to be.

I'm going to have to check it out with the family and see if burgers are to die for?
Thanks for the recommendation!
We're always looking for a truly great burger!

I was already planning a visit to this place but this has made me want to go RIGHT NOW. I probably should read blog posts like this while I'm hungry.
Is it wrong to have burgers for breakfast??
How were the prices?
No matter what additional things are piled on, Matt, all the burgers are $5.95...
And, Claudia, it is by no means wrong to have anything under the sun for breakfast. Unfortunately, they don't open until 11am, and are closed Sundays.
noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
OK, I'll try to cope with the bad news that today will not be the day I have my first "willy burger" but soon.... very soon... I will have the fabtabulous burger. It is now, officially, a quest.
BTW - thanks for the scheduling heads up. I'd have been pretty sad if I went over there and found out they are not open.
Burgers, fries and rings=balanced breakfast!
I've been here and I rate it 10/10. My favorite order is the Tatonka Bison Burger with and order of onion rings. The tatonka burger has delicious smoked mayo with sauteed onions and melted cheese on a perfectly toasted bun. The onion rings are awesome! Not like the fake ones where they are all batter, these onion rings are lightly battered and salted and taste perfect!
