Technically, I have to agree with Clive McFarlane on this issue of whether the State Police had any probable cause to seize that property. But, let's face it, those two guys either just popped in here from some alternate universe, or their short-circuited trip out of town with $15,500 in cash stinks to high heaven. There's too much missing information in Clive's spin...
How about what kind of car it was, where these guys live, what state the car is registered in, and what these two guys actually do for a living? Were they a pair of gang-bangers in a tricked out $90,000 SUV with New York plates, and no visible means of support? Or were they a pair of legitimate car dealers who had just sold a car? Are they poker players? Was the car worth less than the cash?
I mean, c'mon, Clive... you've suppressed all the relevant facts about these two guys! Your spin is notoriously absent any of this kind of critical information that might exonerate them, out here where the rules of the courtroom don't have to apply.
I don't care if their names are Rodriguez and Castro, or Woodward and Bernstein, this spin with so much critical information left out is not enough to convince me that the State Police haven't effectively applied the kind of heat that this particular taxi driver would like to see applied by the police, day in and day out.
