As soon as you cross the border between biotech park and the state hospital grounds, there really is some evidence of a $300 million construction project...Seven Hills operates day activities way over in the northwest quadrant, with a single building out at the end of a long driveway. I guess the massive construction project won't be hampering their activities.
But the schedule for the new mental health facility they're building somewhere between the "road closed" signs and the Seven Hills operation was just too important to allow Martin Scorsese any access up there.
As I understand it, they wanted to do some outdoor shooting with the Clock Tower in the shots...
I had no trouble taking this picture...There was no noise from construction at 8:20 in the morning.
Maybe they don't start constructing until after 9:00 ?
I did see a pickup truck go by with the Gilbane logo on the side. And it did go up that road with the "road closed" sign...
But, as far as any Hollywood Film Prevention Crew activity... I just didn't see any.
If you look at the extreme left of this picture where the chain link fence begins, then carefully look to the right along the middle of the fence... right at the second fence pole you might be able to make out the one construction worker I spotted up there that, as I watched, appeared to be doing a perambulation.I didn't do any exploring up the road with the "road closed" sign, but whatever they're doing, it's way over there beyond where you can see from the clock tower area.
It'll be interesting to see just how busy, how noisy, and how potentially intrusive of the never to be seen Hollywood Film people that this $300 million mental health facility construction project will end up being.
I can't help but equate this project to the equivalent of ten Union Station Parking Garages...
