Shopping While High On Drugs

This morning I brought Kathy over to Memorial Hospital for a follow-up test for further investigation into what happened last month. This involved her being given some drugs to knock her into la-la land while they snaked some sort of expensive equipment down her throat. The drugs didn't knock her out, though, so she was sorta-kinda awake through this whole thing.

I dropped her off at the hospital at 8, then came back and picked her up around 11 after they called me. When she got into the car, the first thing she said was that we need to stop off at the grocery store so she can get a couple of trays of water, and one of those deli grinders they have... she hadn't eaten since early yesterday afternoon.

She was still pretty much in high as a kite mode when we went into the Stop and Shop at South Plaza...

Aside from the two trays of water and the sandwich ($14.78) that we specifically made the trip for, there was also a little flitting about the store for various impulse buys ($32.96).

It certainly was a lot of fun, and Kathy had a fabulous shopping experience while in enhanced mode which, I have to say, appears to have been well worth the discomfort of the testing they did at the hospital, the inconvenience of not being allowed to have anything to eat for almost 24 hours, and especially not being allowed to drive a car for the rest of the day or operate any heavy equipment...

Sometimes life truly is a bowl of cherries. Especially when being totally zonked out is perfectly legal.
