Infrastructure is a great word, isn't it? Especially when it's used to refer to something that you never see...But down there in that trench the troops are busy working on it.
The outbound right lane at the beginning of Grafton Street, directly off the rotary at Washington Square, was shut down all day because of this work.
On my way home from work, there were three or four cars lined up in that lane, waiting for the truck that was parked at the worksite, blocking their view of the cones and the sign that said the lane was shut.
Since I knew it had been shut all day, I never got into that lane in the four or five times I came through there.
I took this shot around 1:30 this afternoon, and the other one (above) around ten minutes before.I'd call these guys a Bump Installation Crew, but since that section of Franklin Street is closed I can hardly make a case for it...
