Sitting at the light at Grafton and Franklin, looking east on Franklin, the Bump Installation Crew can be seen to have made their way to the parking lot entrance this afternoon, playing out the new vein...These mining operations, ostensibly storm drain (or other infrastructure) improvements or repairs, seem to have been going on for most of this century.
Well, it does seem like a long time, anyway.
I guess I just miss the good ole days when I could take a right onto Franklin at the Boulevard, and just go straight through. Now there's a giant concrete riverboat in the way, and all this never ending work being done underneath the intersection at Grafton and Franklin.
When I went by the crew at 2:30 this afternoon, they were busy sealing up part of the trench.Who knows? Maybe they're done with that spot...
All I really know is that all the work on the square and the garage have yet to produce an easing of the traffic patterns all around the train station area and the bottom of Grafton Street. Everything's more of a pain in the neck, ever since the work on the square began. And from the looks of it, it'll never get back to being as easy as it used to be to access various spots in and around that area.
