Sheesh! They've gone all the way out Franklin street, just past the new fire station, and now they've cut a tunnel across to Arctic Street. It's still the same job, as they're still putting in the same variety of six inch white pipes they were using at the start of all this in the prequel, before it even got tagged as a Bump Installation Crew. Some might consider that I'm being obsessive about this, in which case they're obviously paying attention. But when the road you take to and from work is torn up all the time, for a couple of years, it's not really an obsession, it's much more along the lines of WTF...
I'd ask what's going on but I tried that one time, last year when I got curious about a particular hole in the road in this city. I parked the cab, walked over, and asked what it was all about. The guy said, "Nunna ya fukkin' bizzniss!"
So, I haven't bothered to ask about any more of these types of jobs around the city ever since. Instead, I find it much more interesting to keep an online record of all the great money making opportunities that I keep running into here in Worcester for Bump Installation Crews from around the world.
Here's a shot coming from the other direction, inbound on Franklin. When you work a regular job and commute, you see this kind of thing all the time but it doesn't really mean anything to you. Whatever's going on doesn't particularly seem important. All that matters is that you're maybe delayed an extra minute, and maybe it's a little annoying if it's longer, but you figure that whatever it is that's going on, it must be necessary...
But when you drive around the city for a living, and you keep seeing this stuff all the time, you tend to begin to ask, "I wonder what they're actually doing under there?"
