Meanwhile, real life tends to play out with much less dramatic flair, and it's never that simple. Here in Worcester, the question that some people might now be asking is, "Is it better to be well-connected, or completely uninvolved?"
I mean, the choices that we all have to ultimately make tend to involve either getting our hands dirty from time to time, or opting out of that game...
It's become difficult to avoid hearing about or reading about the Amit Mathur trial, spawning local articles about David "Duddie" Massad, and the beginning of what some might perceive as a domino effect from trial testimony that has now hit Worcester County Sheriff Guy Glodis, along with the president and chief executive officer of the Better Business Bureau of Central New England, Ramon Frias.
How many more layers of this onion will they have to peel off before we're all genuinely surprised?
