I see this morning in the T&G's Regional Digest that Robert Moylan's prognostication of the garage opening this week has now been replaced with his prognostication that the garage will open this coming Monday. His original prognostication was made last December when he said it would be open by July 1st.
Well, this is one thing that Robert Moylan and I definitely have in common... whenever I've made a post here that predicted how anything will turn out, one way or another, it's ended up wrong. In fact, if I make any kind of prediction at all, then it's usually a guarantee that it won't happen.
I predicted, for instance, that the new Washington Square rotary configuration would squeeze traffic and turn the whole east side of the city into one big gridlock. I'm happy to say I was wrong about that. It's actually working out a lot better than I ever could have possibly imagined.
I predicted that Lincoln Square would be a big mess during rush hour on the morning that the Summer Nationals began. It wasn't.
I'm sure I'll be making more predictions and prognostications in the future... I mean, it's just so tempting to think I know what's gonna happen before it happens that I can't restrain myself. And despite this predilection for prognostication that proves to be pointless, I'm really hoping that Mr. Moylan is accurate with this latest one. ...I want to be one of the first cars to park there while I shoot video of the experience.

And did you see that street is painted for two-way traffic now?
Yes, as a matter of fact, I did.
And I'm REALLY glad that my old route to go home from the taxi garage will soon be restored to its former glory!
I am also excited about my way to and from work being properly opened up.
4 sets of lights and a fairly straight shot between me and route 9 is way better than 6 and a rotary. Way better.
