Daily Worcesteria has announced that WoMag is being sold to the Holden based Landmark.
The Landmark website demands that you subscribe for a fee, in order to read their content online. To wit: "Full versions of news stories from the current week are available to online subscribers only. Access to full versions of news stories from issues older than 1 week are available to all readers for free in our archive of all issues."
Update: from the Woo Biz Journal.

This looks bad. I hope the new parent is as concerned about their readership as they are of their advertisers.
I was quite fond of the Wo' Mag just the way it was. And the online subscription thing does not fly with me at all.
Fletcher's quote in the WBJ link says he couldn't guarantee that the magazine's employees would all have jobs with Landmark, but said he was "confident that most of them...will be rehired."
So, now it's just going to be part of a chain. Sad. Very sad.
