Not mentioned in the memo were Noah Bombard, Editor in Chief; Lester Paquin, Managing Editor; Chet Williamson, Associate Editor; Charlene Arsenault, Arts & Entertainment Editor; Jeff Loughlin, Photographer; or Sean Harvey, Sr. Designer/Graphic Artist. That's 6 of the 8 people who staffed the Editorial and Design & Production departments.
Of the 8 people in the Sales department, on the other hand, those not mentioned in the memo were Michael Baronas, Sales Operations and Marketing Manager; and Megan Kornn, Distribution Supervisor.
The COO, Craig Thornton, and (as we already knew), the Publisher, Allen Fletcher, will no longer be with WoMag. Neither, apparently, will any of those listed above.
I've worked in companies where the new owners came in and annihilated departments that were working installations... sometimes it's worked out okay, sometimes it hasn't. So nobody can really say what the long term effects will be from Gareth Charter's decision to erase most the existing content creators from WoMag.
But my heart goes out to you guys who lost your jobs in this...
