Worcester Bubblings Online

I've been snoozing today, but a few different online-centric things happened in Worcester in the meantime...

First off, Rick Rushton now has a blog which he's using to liveblog the Demo Convention. Scott Zoback at Daily Worcesteria spotted it pretty quickly, too!

Meanwhile, earlier today, Brendan Melican was on WCRN's Dianne Williamson show. When I spotted that post, it was already past 1 pm, so I tuned in at the online link just in time to hear Brendan say that somebody he knows was standing outside the window giving him the finger. It was Mike Benedetti, who also took a picture.

And finally, a late breaking news bulletin squeezed onto the T&G website at 3:40 pm tells all about how the police will be out tomorrow to enforce school bus traffic rules and doing their best to tell the difference between prostitutes and teenage girls dressed for the first day of school.

Perhaps they have been watching old Ted Mack reruns, and taking the jug band's lyrics to heart:

How 'bout them toad suckers,
ain't they bawg?
Settin' there suckin' them
green toady-frogs.

Suckin' them hop-toads,
Suckin' them chunkers,
Suckin' them leapy types,
Suckin' them clunkers.

Lookit them toad-suckers,
ain't they snappy?
Suckin' them bog frogs
sure makes 'em happy.

There's hugger-mugger toad-suckers
way down south,
Stickin' them sucky-toads
in they mouth.

How to be a toad-sucker,
no way to duck it,
Git yerself a toad, rare, ripe,
and suck it!

How many remember this favorite from "Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour" on Sunday afternoons, in the 50s and 60s?

It would be difficult to coax that particular brain cell back to life.
