September's statistical anomaly could be all about the setting for the feeds, which went to "truncated" for a few weeks, until I turned it back to "full" just the other day.But that wouldn't explain the general sharp uptrend that many other SiteMeter users experienced, beginning in September, such as 4rilla and Glenn Reynolds and Andrew Sullivan.
In trying to figure out what might have caused it to bump up and stay up, though, I have to recall that SiteMeter had tried to roll out a "new version" in the middle of September, a rollout that quickly got rolled back in. Prior to the rollout, however, they were touting their improved software, which was supposedly much more accurate... Well, "more accurate" is kinda hard to believe now, because almost everybody got a huge bump in September when the "more accurate" counting started, even if it didn't sustain through October.
In the end, though, just like every other month, I have to conclude that there's absolutely nothing I could ever do to cause those bars to go up or down. This is your monthly statistic, dear reader, and you've certainly earned some kudos from me. Thank you all, and keep up the good work!
