Here's a shot of the sidewalk on Davis Street, looking downhill from Queen Street. The City of Worcester expects property owners to remove snow from sidewalks abutting their property within 10 hours of a snowfall ending, under penalty of a fine plus costs if it's necessary for the city to hire someone else to do it.
The problem of involuntary servitude aside, does the City of Worcester plan to make the sidewalks safely passable for pedestrians under any other weather conditions?
It's evident that the people who run the city and those who work for the city don't really care about safety. All that really matters to them is revenue and the opportunity to feed at the public trough, respectively.

This is laughable really. You should see the sidewalk directly across the street from Roosevelt School on Grafton St. There's barely 10" of pavement left - it's so overgrown, covered with leaves, brush, garbage. During the winter it's only worse. Multiple calls to the city have resulted in nothing. NOTHING. I hardly think the city is actually going to do anything in this season or any other season. While it might be nice if we actually had passable sidewalks it's ridiculous to think that the city is really going to follow through with their threats.
I find it to be a different situation if I keep on the city to do it's part..you need to keep on the city if you want this taken care of..it is a reality today until we have more folks living within it who care
I find it hilarious that the city council brings this up. I know for a fact Phil Palmeiri NEVER, EVER shovels his sidewalk EVER! This is like a joke.
BOO..your post is what is wrong with this city..if he doesn't then make a complaint and force the city to fine him..but we need this enforcement and we need the citizens involved..the city looks like a shithouse most of the time
