I just chanced upon this installment of a series on Reflections of a Newsasaur, which tends to make the point well: "...it is highly unlikely in this environment that any creditor would provide additional cash to prop up a money-losing newspaper."
The prospect of the complete end to any newspaper is no longer a distant or far-fetched one. And it could happen quite suddenly.
