Worcester Parking Placeholders

You don't have to go very far to find placeholders for parking spaces in Worcester during the winter season.

This is a serious business, too.

When you've spent an hour or more shoveling out your car after a decent sized snowstorm, there's just no way that somebody else can use it without risking making an enemy for life... or for at least as long as they continue to live in that neighborhood.

Living in 3 decka-land and having to park on the street is one of Worcester's archetypal stories.

And you'll find some of the most interesting artifacts used as placeholders, too.

I'm not really sure what, exactly, the original purpose of this orange colored thing might have been, but its purpose is now quite clear.

Clear, that is, to anyone who's spent even one winter in Worcester.

It looks like an ashtray - 1960s? 1970s?

Looks to me like one of those drinkholders from Six Flags...
