More CitySquare

Nick's getting a lot of mileage out of that one utterance from the City Dictator on Tuesday night, isn't he?

The "news" doesn't seem "new" to a lot of people, judging by the responses I've gotten from people in and out of the cab over the past couple of days. I can't count the number of times that I've said, "No official confirmation on any of this came out until Tuesday evening."

It really is a big deal, though, because until one of the parties involved made a public statement, the "unofficial rumors from reliable sources" could've all just evaporated.

Of course, the other dynamic at work here is the way that city officials have crowed and "announced" their way across six long years, with nothing ever coming of it. We're all pretty well worn out from six years of all hat and no cattle on this whole thing...

I'll have to admit that I'm certainly worn out on the subject of waiting for this, too. But I've always wanted it to happen. And I think just about anyone you might care to ask would be pleased as punch to see this thing actually happen. Just to see something actually happen...

In point of fact, there is only one thing that has to happen, and that's for the wrecking ball to finally arrive and tear down that mall.

Just do it!

Thanks, Sprout! I made it using Windows Paint yesterday afternoon. I have no eye for colors, so I had gone with the same colors as the old logo, but Kathy said it should be "cab colors" and should maybe have some checkerboard stuff, too.
