Airport Deal Roundup

Arguably the biggest news in Worcester so far this year is the City Dictator's memo to the City Council, detailing the transfer of the Worcester Regional Airport from the City of Worcester to Massport.

While waiting to watch the 6pm edition of Worcester News Tonight yesterday, I caught the tail end of Jordan Levy's show when he reiterated that they had broken the news at around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. I immediately went to the computer and checked out Daily Worcesteria (still nothing this morning), the T&G (found nothing at that point), and then to Google news where I found only the Worcester Business Journal had something about it. So, I posted that link. Then, about an hour later I found the T&G article about it and updated...

Yeah, okay... I had to do a little rant, too.

This morning, I see that Bill Randell has lightly weighed in, and Chris has voiced an angle that I see a lone the first commenter (to last night's T&G article) is also echoing...

Today's article in the T&G is the same as last night's, but with a different graphic.

Interestingly enough, no opinion pieces on the airport transfer in the T&G today... Heh. I gotta say, if they want to charge extra for locally generated content, they've gotta be one heck of lot faster than dead tree deadlinitis leaves them. There's a difference between online content and dead tree content everywhere in the virtual universe... except over there at 20 Franklin Street.

Meanwhile the only other coverage of this news I can find this morning is this WBZ posting of an AP piece.

Update(9:45am): More from Bill Randell, and a quick post at WTP&OB. Also covered in the Herald, and Boston.com.
