Key To The City

Yesterday, I had a visit from Mayor Joe O'Brien and City Councilor Rick Rushton.  I thought this was a nice gesture on their part, but then Joe took out a Key to the City and presented me with it!

Honestly, I'm overwhelmed at this kind of validation!

We talked about the online conversation, and how it's been building and building over the past three years. More people are joining in, and apparently this kind of activity really does get noticed at City Hall.

I want to publicly thank the City for this symbol of validation, and say that nothing could have been further from my expectations yesterday!

Congratulations Jeff, that's quite the honor. And if we stop and think about what these sorts of gestures really mean, nobody is more deserving.

Congratulations, Jeff!

While you may feel overwhelmed, you rightfully deserve the key to the City and I tip my hat to Mayor O'Brien, Councilor Rushton and the City Council on acknowledging your voice and contributions to the City.

There are few people that would "risk" writing a blog about the city that they live in, which both praises and questions what transpires.

Again, congratulations and you continue to be a Positive Innovator(PI).

Peace!

Jeff,
If the City's politicians never award another Key to the City, their raison d'tre would have been accomplished. Well done and wishing you well.

Congratulations, Jeff. You definitely deserve it. I very much enjoy your take on the city - warts and all. Many other outlets just focus on the warts.
